Vitamins
Vitamin D (Immunity)
Vitamin D has a very well documented relationship with the upkeep of the immune system. It regulates T cells, B cells and also macrophages. It plays a role in the modulation of the innate and adaptive immune responses. Additionally, vitamin D deficiency is quite prevalent in autoimmune diseases.
Vitamin B12 (Immunity)
The cells of a strong immune system require oxygen to perform at their best. Vitamin B12 is integral to the production of red blood cells that are in charge of oxygen transportation and ensure that the immune system cells have enough oxygen.
Vitamin B9 (Immunity)
Along with Vitamin B12, folate (Vitamin B9) is involved in the production of healthy red blood cells. A deficiency of vitamin B9 and B12 can affect immune responses by affecting the production of nucleic acid, protein synthesis and inhibiting the activity of immune cells.
Cholesterol
HDL (Immunity)
Also known as the good cholesterol, its level needs to be just the right amount for optimal health. Not too high and not too low as well. A healthy level of HDL is necessary to fight off infections.
LDL (Immunity)
LDL binds to pathogens like bacteria and blocks their entry into our cells, leaving them at the mercy of our immune system. Thus, LDL is a necessary biomarker to understand your body’s readiness to fight off pathogens.
Total Cholesterol (Immunity)
Since total cholesterol factors in HDL, it is a useful marker to test as well.
Triglycerides (Immunity)
Lipotoxicity can cause organ damage due to an imbalance in the immune system’s chronic inflammatory response.
Hormones
Cortisol (Immunity)
Cortisol is a hormone released during stressful situations. It affects the immune system by preventing the production of inflammatory mediators. Elevated cortisol levels due to increased stress causes fewer receptors to be produced in immune cells. There is an abundance of evidence linking physiologic amounts of cortisol to the development and maintenance of normal immunity.
DHEA Sulphate (Immunity)
The effect of DHEA-S on immunity is convoluted due to the mechanism through which these effects occur. However, current research is equivocal on that DHEA-S, either via direct or indirect mechanisms, evokes responses from multiple immune system components.
Testosterone
Testosterone has a role in controlling bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass, strength and the production of red blood cells. It also helps regulate sex drive and sperm production in men.
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) (Immunity)
Generally, the thyroid-stimulating hormone is known for its effect on regulating the thyroid hormone. However, TSH has also been shown to be used by the cells of the human immune system.
Iron
Ferritin (Immunity)
Iron deficiency reduces the body’s ability to fight pathogens, leaving you more vulnerable to infection, disease, and other health issues. As a matter of fact, frequent infections are a lesser-known symptom of iron deficiency.

Proteins
Albumin (Immunity)
Albumin is a protein that helps hold water within the blood and carries nutrients, medications and other substances through the blood and is important for tissue growth and healing. Albumin also reduces immunosuppression, a condition that arises when the immune system is performing poorly.
Globulin (Immunity)
Globulin or immunoglobulin is made up of human blood plasma. This plasma contains antibodies that protect the body against diseases.
Total Protein (Immunity)
Total Protein is the sum of the proteins albumin and globulin in your blood, which help in transporting nutrients and fighting infection.
Liver health
The liver is a key tissue in the immune system and its strong health status is a necessity for a strong immune response. It provides support to the immune system via two channels. First, it plays a role in identifying threats. Secondly, it synthesises soluble molecules that are essential for an effective immune response. The following tests help assess the liver’s health and thus your body’s immunity.
Bilirubin (Immunity)
Elevated levels of bilirubin can indicate that either your red blood cells are breaking down at an unusual rate or that your liver isn’t breaking down waste properly.
ALT (Immunity)
Alanine transferase (ALT) helps identify liver cell inflammation.
GGT (Immunity)
High GGT levels indicate damage to the liver. Alongside ALP, GGT may be used to identify whether the cause is bone or liver damage.
ALP (Immunity)
High ALP levels may indicate damage to the liver or bones, which are both crucial components of the immune system.
Glucose
HbA1c (Diabetes) (Immunity)
Hyperglycemia, or elevated levels of HbA1c, have an adverse effect on the immune system. In this state, the activity of the cells of the immune system is reduced. Additionally, hyperglycemia also diminishes the inflammatory response of the immune system.
Inflammation
hs-CRP (Immunity)
The CRP high-sensitivity test identifies inflammation within the body. It is a direct test of the immune response of the body.
